Software Developer II--Security Programming Engineer

TD Ameritrade is looking for a Software Developer II?Security Programming Engineer to work at our Jersey City, NJ location. This individual will be responsible for building rules and models for security event management software packages (such as ArcSight, Intellitactics, eSecurity, Actimize, OpenService etc?) for TD Ameritrade?s customer base. Responsibilities include engineering, developing and documenting custom rules, models, and custom configurations based on business and security requirements.

 

The candidate should have detailed knowledge of, switches, VPNs, firewalls, content scanners and intrusion detection devices; conducting network vulnerability assessments; developing test concepts and methodologies; developing test plans, procedures and reports; leading and participating in technical meetings and design reviews; presenting proposed designs to customers and other contractors; supporting security certification and accreditation; and developing trade-off studies, proposals and cost estimates.

 

Responsibilities:

 Developing rules and configurations using various data sources to meet business and Information Security needsPerform ?hands-on? deployment of IDS, Firewalls, and other security technologies. Work directly with internal customers in a friendly positive spirited manner. Be able to clearly articulate the business value of the work that you are providing to the customer.  Understand how security is implemented in a business focused environment. Secure mission-critical networks for large enterprise environments.Assist with writing policy and procedure documents pertaining to security event management.

 

Requirements:

 Scripting/Programming Experience (PERL, shell scripting, C, Java, use of Regular Expressions, etc)Security Event Management Product Experience (eSecurity, OpenService, Intellitactics, Network Intelligence, etc?)Network Security appliances experience (IDS, Firewall, VPN, Intrusion Prevention)Experience with Network and Application Protocols (IP, TCP, UDP, FTP, HTTP, DNS, routing, etc.)Knowledge of IT security practices, trends and marketsExperience with Unix/Linux/Windows Logging Knowledge of Regulatory mandates such as HIPPA, Sarbanes Oxley, and GLB

?  Experience with AML vendor products such as Actimize and Mantas, and/or internally developed systems used in the industry preferred

?  Solid understanding operating within a solution development life cycle, and applying good development processes like documentation, source control, formal change management, etc.

?  The candidate is organized and can communicate clearly and concisely.

?  Is Proficient in MS Project, Excel, Visio and SQL.

?  Proven ability to multi-task and successfully execute and solve complex technical problems.Security Certification (e.g. CISSP, SANS Training) desiredBS/MS degree in engineering or computer science preferred
