Software Developer - Java

Overview
As a Software Developer within our Health Management Applications organization, you will work on a team that is responsible for developing enterprise level applications used in healthcare management. In this role you will be responsible for the design, development, documentation and testing of production-level, mission-critical enterprise software in a distributed n-tier environment.

Job Skills/Requirements
 
Design, develop, test and maintain elements of a modern n-tier application, using various tools and technologies, including Java, JSP, Servlets, etc
Write, edit and revise detailed technical design documents, to accurately describe the technical details of the components to be developed
Explain and document major application design decisions and their rationales to technical and non-technical audiences
Work effectively as part of a development team with minimal supervision
All other duties as assigned


Experience includes


Bachelors degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
Java programming experience
Familiarity with object-oriented analysis & design concepts and techniques (e.g., interfaces, abstraction, encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism)
Experience with Oracle RDBMS, with strong SQL skills

Previous experience developing software within a Unix/linux environment is preferred

Previous experience developing code from UML is a strong plus
Ability to adapt well to changing priorities in a fast paced development environment
A demonstrable attention to detail


Education Requirements


Bachelors degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
