Software Developer-Lead

Responsible for leading a small team of application developers who work on coding and testing application code or troubleshooting defects and production issues.

 

Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Translating business requirements into functional specifications.
Working as an independent contributor with little to no supervision
Engaging with the business to ensure technical specifications meet business requirements
Coordinating application recovery procedures with helpdesk operations area and/or infrastructure support teams
Must have comprehensive expertise in the software development process
Position requires the ability to lead small teams, local and off-shore, toward a common goal or completion of initiatives













Preferred Education/Experience:



BS in Computer Science or related field


5+ years of practical Software Development experience


Core Responsibilities/Requirements:



Thorough knowledge of software design paradigms and techniques


Provide technical leadership in the areas of core software development


Lead a combined team of local and off-shore development resources in delivery of coding assignments


Participates in project planning sessions with, architects, technical support staff, and/or team members to analyze business IT requirements


Solid understanding of Java, Javascript, HTML, Oracle, WebSphere, MQ-Series


Familiarity with SQL Server and DB2 a plus


Familiarity with ErWin Data Modeler 


Familiarity with Mercury Loadrunner a plus


Broad experience with different IT architectures including Microsoft and Unix based solutions


Defines and designs application code and program modules


Designs and supports integration test plans.  Develops and executes unit and integration test scripts


Test applications for defects and limitations and ensures overall quality of software delivered according to defined standa5rds


Collaborates with the Information Architects to create logical data model


Ensures the application interacts efficiently with interfacing applications and platforms


Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Ability to operate successfully in cross-functional teams


Ability to perform thorough technical evaluations of software products and architectures


Skilled at identifying design flaws


Ability to lead technical discussions
