DESCRIPTION:

The Software Development Engineer primary focus of work will be developing Authorize.Net transaction processing / billing applications. The platform used to develop these interfaces is .Net framework with C#, SQL Server 2000/2005, T-SQL. The Software Development Engineer must be well versed in developing mission critical high performance applications on the Windows platform using the .Net framework.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs product design activities, which may require extensive research and analysis.

Performs design, implementation, maintenance of multiple product modules/sub-systems.

Conducts unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits.  Participates in product design, product definition reviews and test reviews. Performs escalated production support for assigned products.  Researches and troubleshoots problems discovered in production and develops solutions to the problems in a timely manner.  Coordinate design and reviews for the project. Design and Develop software components for projects mainly in the areas of billing and provisioning and facilitate consistent design.  Fulfill project tasks, issues and milestones, report status and focused on delivering on commitments.  Perform unit and integration testing to ensure high quality of deliverables. Review and provide inputs to release plan for production deployment.  Researches, evaluates, and recommends new technology or development tools.  Ability to innovate on product ideas, design methodologies, tools, problem solving. Identifies personal and professional development needs.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

I.  Education / Number of Years Work Experience / Certifications:

  Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor?s degree in Computer Science and have three to five years experience with developing mission critical server based applications utilizing C#/.Net framework, ASP.Net, Windows Services, SQL Server 2000/2005, SQL reporting services, XML, XSLT and web services.

 

II.  Specialized Skills and Knowledge:

Other requirements include: proven experience creating solid object and component based designs and documenting the same, a complete understanding of iterative software development process, writing automated unit tests, the ability to communicate effectively with engineers, managers and program managers, experience developing mission-critical transactional applications and flexibility to learn new technologies quickly and work on a broad range of software development assignments. The candidate must have solid skills and experience in T-SQL, database design and writing database code that performs optimally. Experience with developing software for customer billing application or credit card or electronic check processing is a plus.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Employee is able to work in a general office environment on an ongoing basis working on personal computers for long periods of time.  Employee may be called upon to interact verbally with other staff and/or clients face to face or over the telephone. Moderate stress may occur at times when facing deadlines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands and arms to handle, reach and feel; and talk or hear.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate..
