Description
The Manager will lead a growing team of software development professionals responsible for the complete life cycle development, quality assurance, and support.
These products are mission-critical to our customers, and we need a well-rounded leader to build upon our success and scale our capabilities to match our growth.
The Manager will lead and mentor individual contributors, manage projects, develop and implement processes, and provide engineering support to ensure our products offer increasing value to our customers over their lifetime, from concept to end-of-life.
The Manager's success will reflect on the company?s bottom line and must work well within a matrix organization and achieve results through diverse cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate will have a solid software engineering background with experience in project and group leadership.
Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills are required.
A demonstrated ability to deliver on time, to specification and within budget in a multiple project environment is important.

Responsibilities:
?Leadership of software development and quality assurance personnel.
?Management and oversight of software development projects.
?Key contributor for development, implementation, quality assurance, and management of processes for software development and complete life-cycle support.
?Coordinate assignment of individual contributors to projects. Identify and satisfy resource needs for projects throughout the organization.
?Provide project visibility throughout the organization, including general management, engineering, sales, marketing, and field support groups.
?Provide engineering support to internal and external customers.
?Lead sustaining engineering efforts for product improvement and maintenance. Follow-through until it is clear that customer needs have been met.
?Manage the department budget; understand and communicate the economic impacts of project life-cycle decisions.

Position Qualifications:

Education:
?BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Extensive experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

Experience:
?7+ years experience in a high-technology software development organization including key roles in line management or project leadership.
?Familiarity with formal software development processes with hands-on experience in software project leadership required.
?Familiarity with a broad range of software development methodologies and technologies, including object-oriented methodologies, a strong plus.
?Experience delivering results in a matrix organization a strong plus.
