Software Engineering Manager

Our client, a major healthcare information technology vendor, is currently seeking a Software Engineering Manager for their Milwaukee, WI area headquarters location. 

 

Responsibilities include:
- Develop work plans, technical objectives aligned with business goals, policies, and standards.
- Prioritize feature sets, estimate engineering efforts, and plan release schedules.
- Assign tasks and supervise personnel.
- Monitor completion of tasks within time constraints. Insure technical objectives are met.
- Recruit, select, and train new employees.
- Mentor and grow personnel.
- Collaborate with global software leaders to align plans and realize the global software platform vision.
- Interface with senior management to report on program progress and present project needs.
- Execute performance reviews and plans to improve performance.
- Determine and implement operational policies and state of the art software development procedures
Qualifications


- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years experience leading the design of complex software systems of computerized products.
- Demonstrated team building, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, energize, and drive teams.
Desired


- Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business.
- 2 years engineering management experience.
- Experience with complex software branching strategies.
- Experience with lean product development techniques and agile software development.
- Experience with medical product development.
- Experience managing development in other countries.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Works well in fast-paced growing environment.
