Software IT Architect (Springfield or St.Louis areas)

IBM Sales and Distribution develops, integrates, sells and distributes IBM's unparalleled array of products and services. We are actively searching for an experienced Software IT Architect with 7+ years of IT experience. Several years experience in designing complex multi-product systems (Integration, Automation, Security, Web Services, Enterprise, Solutions, etc.) is required. The ideal candidate must have a strong background with J2EE architecture and a breadth of technical knowledge across the IBM SW portfolio including Websphere & Tivoli - middleware, application server, database & mainframe or Competitive experience. The Software Architect is the software technical leader for a client. Software Architects use methodologies & skills as facilitators to translate client initiatives and problems into a vision of how IBM software technology can help provide the answer. After the initial design work, the Software Architect remains engaged with the client to ensure solution success and leverage relationship to repeat the process. The SWITA is responsible for a wide range of design activities from requirements analysis through systems, application and/or process design specification. At the Consulting level, the position requires significant knowledge across multiple platforms, processes or architectures, broad knowledge of new technologies, leading technical activities within your account and accurately assessing the risk for mgmt. We are looking for candidates with all or some of the following skills and/or experience: Apply Client Strategy & Planning, Apply Knowledge of IBM SW Offrgs/Solns/Suppt, Communicate/Analyze Solution Alternatives, Apply IBM Infrastructure Knowledge, Use Methodologies to develop/support solutions, Apply knowlege of emerging business/tech models/tools/techniques, Architect business solutions with IBM Prod/Tech/Svcs, Apply knowledge of SOA & On Demand SW Technology and Establish & maintain client "trusted advisor" relationships. This SW Architect should reside in either the Greater Springfield, IL or the Greater St. Louis areas. The successful candidate will be mobile and will work remotely with moderate travel (up to 20%) required. The salary will be commensurate with experience.
