Software License Analyst

Synectics has an opening in Lake Forest, IL. A Software License Analyst is needed to perform analysis and coordinate procurement of software licenses. Responsibilities include working with Desktop Team to determine which users can have software upgraded or uninstalled, obtaining detailed information about license terms, coordinating details of how licenses should best be purchased and identifying opportunities for cost savings in software licensing. This position will work closely with Purchasing, IT, and the IT Asset Management team. The Software License Analyst will also review, analyze and evaluate business systems and user needs.

 

Qualifications for this position include:

- Experience in software license compliance and auditing is required

- Detailed knowledge of software licensing, license compliance and auditing, including understanding of types of licenses used for Microsoft products

- Basic familiarity with SMS is a plus

- Excellent analytical skills and be very detail-oriented

- Must be able to quickly summarize data and understand its meaning

- May require a Bachelor's degree in a related area and 5+ years of experience in the field or in a related area

- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field

- Excellent interpersonal skills and be very detail oriented

- Must demonstrate ability to follow up on and track down all details, without letting anything fall through the cracks
