Software Quality Analyst - (PB10287)

SUMMARY:
The Software Quality Analyst performs testing activities to ensure that Catalina software conforms to defined requirements, system designs and quality standards. These tasks include writing and executing test scripts then analyzing and documenting the test results.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managing Work:
Understands scope, priority and timelines of assigned work
Manages own workload to deliver quality deliverables that meet requirements
Communicates to supervisor status of assignments
Notifies supervisor of issues that impact productivity or ability to meet expectations
Follows CSF processes in completing assignments
Follows standards/uses standard toolsets
Identifies opportunities to improve existing conditions and processes
Creative in problem solving
Does not miss important items
Does not need to be told the same thing multiple times
Checks work in to central repositories
Additional Responsibilities:
Create and execute test scripts for Integration, System and Regression testing phases of the software development lifecycle.
Document and communicate testing activities and results.
Document and track defects utilizing department designated tools.
Assist in test planning activities
Assist in maintaining hardware, software, and configuration of System Test Lab
Maintain hardware, software, and configuration of parallel stores
Monitor parallel stores to ensure complete accuracy of data from test software
Assist in writing testing procedure documentation
Work closely with customer, development and support groups to facilitate software releases
Assist in training of ancillary department personnel in the delivery and support of new software
EDUCATION:
Associate or Bachelor degree in MIS type study or equivalent industry experience

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2 years software testing experience

SPECIAL SKILLS:
Strong understanding of computer hardware and software
Thorough knowledge of DOS, OS/2, Win 9x, Win NT, Win XP, Unix, Oracle
Experience in Client Server and Object Oriented environment
Good understanding of software testing principles and practices
Working knowledge of software development lifecycle
Strong analytical skills
Very thorough and detail oriented
Excellent troubleshooting skills
