Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Manager and Test Lead

Job Description:

This position is a hands-on Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Lead I Test Manager responsible for testing software that is part of a very unique and interesting medical device used in the cardiac cath lab. The end product is a combination of an immersive interactive windows 3D user interface, as well as embedded software products.

The person in this position will split their time between being an individual contributor (Developing and executing verification and validation test cases) and managing/mentoring test engineers of various experience levels.

 

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for the process, procedures, reports, and planning of the Software Quality Assurance (SQA) activities for the software in our medical devices.

2. Investigates and responds to software installation and software and hardware operational problems reported from the field.

3. Contribute to the implementation (i.e. hands-on testing) of the SQA process.

4. Set up and configure SQA test environment

5. Design and implement automated testing procedures.

6. Oversee, coach, and mentor other test engineers

 

Required Skills:

Essential Attributes:

1. BSCS or equivalent degree

2. 7? years working as a SQA engineer with increasing responsibility

3. Extensive hands-on experience testing user interface and system software is REQUIRED.

4. Thorough understanding of SQA methodology and process.

5. Ability and desire to learn/understand the basics of medical procedures (Electrophysiology, Interventional Cardiology, Interventional/Neuro radiology) and associated anatomy.

6. Excellent verbal and written communication and organization skills

 

Desired Attributes:

1. Proficient in C++ programming in Microsoft Developers Studio.

2. Familiarity with design controls and regulatory guidance for software development for medical device products.
