PRIMARY PURPOSE: To supervise the software quality team defining technology quality assurance procedures and software testing/releases; to write and maintain automation scripts, and to test data warehouse and reports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervises software quality staff Develops and maintains process for internal software testing Develops metrics for monitoring software quality Makes recommendations for improvements and enhancements to management Verifies and validates updates and enhancements to the claims management system by executing test cases and use cases Identifies, logs and tracks issues related to the product quality Works with programmers to resolve identified issues Executes manual and automated regression tests ensuring product stability Writes automation scripts for regression testing based on test cases and use cases Tracks and documents software quality metrics Builds the quarterly software release candidate for final verification Verifies and validates the media for each release Recommends product and process quality enhancements Writes technical documentation Supports the Total Performance Management initiative Travels as required


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Administers company personnel policies in all areas and follows company staffing standards and training recommendations Interviews, hires and establishes colleague performance development plans; conducts colleague performance discussions Provides support, guidance, leadership and motivation to promote maximum performancE



Education & Licensing: Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university preferred. 

 

Experience: Four (4) years verifiable experience in developing software testing and documentation Two (2) years supervisory experience Experience with one or more of the following required:  Compuware QACenter, Mercury Interactive, Rational SQA Suite, or Seque SilkTest.

 

Skills & Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of software requirement management and testing tools Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills PC literate, including Microsoft Office products Leadership/management/motivational skills Excellent analytical and interpretive skills Strong organizational skills Good negotiation skills Excellent interpersonal skills Good judgment and discretion skills Ability to manage multiple projects and set priorities Ability to work independently Ability to work in a team environment Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
