The Software Requirements Analyst. ?SRA?, shall work with the architecture team to review understand, analyze, validate and document functional and nonfunctional business requirements, to include exception and emergency processing requirements. The SRA will document these requirements in a formal Requirements Document, following the formats specified in the CMS Requirements Writer's Guide, Version 3.1. The SRA shall review existing system requirements with CMS and CBIC Subject Matter Experts (SME) to ensure thorough documentation of events, create Business Process Models to map requirements into specific scenario/alternate scenario diagrams, properly format functional and nonfunctional requirements, develop pass/fail statements, and import requirements into the Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS). The SRA shall gather and write the requirements such that they are correct, complete, clear, consistent, testable, traceable, feasible, modular, and design-independent, and shall ensure requirements capture the required technical capabilities and constraints of the system. The SRA will process all Review Item Discrepancy (RID) reports and coordinate with applicable personnel to adjust requirements documentation, as needed. The SRA shall coordinate with the CBIC IT Project Manager, CMS and CBIC SMEs, and authorizing personnel to compile and baseline a final, comprehensive, formally structured Requirements Document. The formal Requirements Document will be provided to CMS, CBIC, CBIC IT project managers, and system designers to implement the requirements into the project. The SRA will develop, edit, or assist the development (as requested) of test plans, test reports, technical documents, functional descriptions, system specifications, briefings, administrative publications, brochures, operating instructions and procedures, installation guides, proposals, reports, and maintenance, operator and user training tools and manuals, review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of presentation, reproduction and binding, organize material and complete writing assignments, maintain records and files of work and revisions, select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material, assist in laying out material for publication, and arrange for typing, duplication and distribution of material, or any other customer deliverables and documents according to CSSS/CMS standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology. The SRA shall create and implement DMEPOS supplier and CBIC/CMS on-line/computer-based and face-to-face training sessions (as needed), to ensure a thorough understanding of the on-line bidding process prior to the start of mock bidding sessions and as needed during active bidding. The SRA shall also assist other CBIC IT, CBIC, and CMS personnel, such as engineers, testers, database administrators, etc., to ensure comprehensive contract success.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: The Software Requirements Analyst shall have experience with full life cycle development of software systems, excellent technical and business writing skills (with meticulous attention to grammar, syntax, spelling and punctuation), the ability to interpret, analyze, and logically categorize, format, and present information in both written and graphical form (to include flowcharts, organizational diagrams, network diagrams, etc.) within a variety of technical documents, familiarity with writing to DID specifications, and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, and DOORS.
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: The Software Requirements Analyst shall possess exceptional interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and problem solving skills, with the ability to work across functional lines, a perceptiveness of the nuances of interpersonal interaction, particularly in government contracting operations, be proactive and able to work independently, and be adaptable and accepting of feedback. The SRA shall be a self-starter and able to work in both a team/under direction environment and in a self-paced/unsupervised environment under pressure and handle simultaneous demands. The SRA will, most importantly, have a desire to have fun, learn, and deliver a product on-time on-budget.
EDUCATION: The Software Requirements Analyst shall posses a BS degree in Technical Writing, English, or Journalism and one year experience in requirements analysis or technical writing. Or, four years experience as a requirements analyst, technical writer, or editorial technician.
