Description Software (Support) Engineer

Duties:

This resource will be part of our Customer Engineering team providing software support for all customer-escalated issues and bugs, with ongoing development and subsequent release and deployment of product updates. As part of our Customer Engineering group this resource will also be providing our customers with 24x7 pager support.

Required Skills:

? Excellent Diagnostic and Problem Solving Skills
? Excellent experience working in Unix/Linux and Windows. environment
? Excellent Shell or Perl scripting experience
? Experience developing with Java, C++, or C#
? Some experience developing with Visual Basic a plus.
? Basic skills on networking and understanding of firewalls and proxies a plus.
? Experiencing of remotely diagnosing networked computer systems.
? Experience working with a relational database (Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server)
? BSCS or equivalent experience

Desired Skills:

? Ability to work in a fast paced & dynamic small company environment.
? Demonstrated creative problem solving skills

Education and Typical Years of Experience Bachelor?s degree in a related technical field or equivalent work experience. Minimum 3-5 years of progressively responsible related technical experience, including 1 year developing large, technically complex systems and 6 months with major responsibility for developing, revising and controlling technical documentation of a complex system.  Special Requirements 

Non-Tech Skills: ? Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work in a team environment, good customer interaction skills are desired.
