Software Sys Engineer, Senior

Provide Java coding and J2EE expertise to collaborate with the Software Development Team in developing and delivering cutting-edge customer service solutions. The position requires extensive experience building distributed J2EE applications using the MVC architecture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Functional:
' Code components in Java leveraging J2EE frameworks
' Consistently generates error-free application and/or system components to meet specifications or statement of problem
' Development to include new product development, customizations and enhancements
' Create detailed design specifications to address user goals; formulates plan-outlining steps required to develop program following established standards for design deliverables.
' Participate in requirements elicitation, design process, design reviews and code peer reviews as required
' Estimate assigned work effort and be accountable for completion dates
' Create detailed design documentation and program logic documentation as necessary
' Analyzes, reviews and modifies programs to increase operating efficiency
' Performs maintenance and enhancement of software components, documenting modifications
' Clarify business requirements by working with business analysts and end users
' Follow established programming standards and frameworks
' Perform unit testing which could includes building and executing test harnesses
' Work closely with QA Technical Test Analysts on unit and functional testing

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Functional:
' Business tier development on an enterprise software or commercial software project that involved using Java, J2EE and large databases
' Distributed Web facing development leveraging MVC architectures
' Experience with UML and Object Oriented (OO) methodologies
' 5+ years experience with web technologies including Java, J2EE, EJB, JSF, Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Oracle, WebServices, XML, HTML, XSL, JavaScript, SQL, SOAP, JSP, JDBC, Source Management
' 3+ years experience with WebLogic, WebSphere or JBoss application servers
' Ability to meet individual deadlines and team goals
' .Net web experience is a plus
' Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, while effectively focusing on priority issues
' Exceptional customer service approach to work with internal and external customers
' Understanding of how the product is applied by the user and the underlying business processes that drive product functionality
