Software Test Engineer - Online Services - Quality

The Online Services Prism Quality group is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability and availability of Prism Services within the Novus Suite Hosting Environment.  Prism is an application framework used to deploy web-based applications that are built on top of TLR's shared architecture for online products, the Novus Suite.  The Quality group provides testing, development, and configuration management services.  Software Test Engineers in this organization design and execute tests, work closely with developers to test new services, test environment configurations, and provide error tracking for applications.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

?  Contribute to Test Plans.

?  Design, develop, and execute tests for the Search, Load, Alerts, Delivery, etc? services within Prism/INF.

?  Write tests using and/or building test drivers for testing functionality and performance of services via service APIs.

?  Plan and execute functional and stress/load/performance tests using a risk-based test strategy.

?  Write and execute manual and automated test scripts.

?  Analyze and report test results.

?  Report and monitor defects and their resolution.

?  Work on the development of quality team best practices.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

?  Bachelor's degree in computer science, Mathematics, or similar area, or equivalent work experience.

?  1-3 years of software testing experience, including experience testing a complex, technical application.

?  Experience with object-oriented development.  At least 1 year of experience programming Java, C++, .NET, or some other object-oriented language.

?  Experience with XML, XSL, and HTML.

?  Experience using defect/issue-tracking tools (e.g., Tracker) preferred.

?  Experience writing test documentation (e.g., test plans, test scripts, etc.) strongly preferred.

?  Excellent oral and written communication skills.

?  Exhibits passion for staying current on technologies and best practices as related to testing.

?  Strong technical aptitude.

?  Strong attention to detail and good organizational, analysis, and problem solving skills.

?  Must also be willing to express new and innovative ideas.

 

Preferred or Desired Qualifications:

?  Experience with JUnit.

?  Experience in Object Oriented Analysis and Design.

?  Experience and technical knowledge in the following areas: J2EE, J2SE, web services, WebSphere.

?  Familiarity with test automation tools (e.g., SilkTest, SilkPerformer).
