Solutions Support Analyst- BSG Bus Dev./DSS



This position is based in Wilkesboro, NC but will be moving to Mooresville, NC at the end of 2008. The Solutions Support Analyst is responsible for providing analysis for the solutions/initiative. This analysis includes analyzing solution alternatives that will meet defined specifications, solution interdependencies, and analysis validating the solution meets the business requirements.

The Solutions Support Analyst develops and supports solutions for helping users make business decisions. Tools used for Decision Support include MicroStrategy Report Development software as well as Lowe's proprietary information access tools. An understanding of relational databases is a requirement, as well as, a general understanding of Information Warehouse concepts. A knowledge of MicroStrategy Desktop Suite is a plus. In addition, an understanding of retail business practices is strongly preferred. The Solutions Support Analyst role works closely with Senior DSS Analysts in a strong team environment to complete project tasks and support the users.

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or comparable job-related experience is required. 1-3 years of experience developing applications using decision support software, like MicroStrategy is a definate plus. Good leadership and strong communication skills (written and oral). Knowledge of Project development methodologies are a plus. Previous experience with Program Office Management or Project Chartering is a plus. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience utilizing tools such as Microstrategy, Cognos, Business Objects, Hyperion, or SAS.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a Data Warehouse environment is desired.
