The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a/an Sr. Administrator, Database for our IT/Info Systems (TSG) Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.



Essential Job Functions:
7-9 years experience administering Oracle databases; Experience o database backup and recovery using Oracle RMAN and Veritas Netbackup is essential; Good understanding of normalized and star-schema database design methodology; Experienced with Performance tuning SQLs, Solaris/AIX operating systems and SAN storage is essential; Has implemented and supported RAC environment; Has implemented and supported large Oracle databases in the range of 2 Tera Bytes plus; Experienced with Logical and Physical standby databases.



Job Requirements:
Responsible for the installation of Oracle software patches/upgrades. Responsible for database administration functions. Build database schemas for new projects and integrate with other database systems. Handle day-to-day database administration, to include: troubleshooting database problems, upgrading database software, and maintaining all aspects of database. Provide on-call support for critical database system failures. Maintain good documentation practices with regard to the database, schema diagrams, user's guides, and API connection points. Previous experience working in 7x24 operations environment supporting customer-facing systems is a must. Perform standard UNIX functions related to Oracle Databases. Knowledge of SQLServer databases is a plus.



Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
