Sr. Business Systems Analyst

Senior Business Systems Analyst to serve as IT Liaison for Metlife Institutional Finance applications. The ideal candidate will have a Business Systems Analyst background in financial systems, including analysis of accounting applications, and strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills. In the role of Business Analyst, you will be part of a team that will implement MetLife's strategic vision for a well-controlled Financial Systems environment. A broad knowledge of MetLife's Institutional products, processes and systems would be helpful, as well as a working knowledge of PeopleSoft or other ERP packages.

 

Principal Responsibilities:

- Analyze financial practices as they relate to the development of systems; formulate and define system scope and objective based on user needs and thorough understanding of business processes

- Complete written documentation as defined by the IT Roadmap

- Use Calligo to maintain all application documentation

- Work with internal business groups on process improvement projects designed to improve business results

- Work closely with the technical staff, QA, and customer to ensure that developed functionality meets requirements

- Provide technical guidance concerning business implications of application development projects

- Provide status to team leads and project managers

- Mentor junior team members and/or act as team lead

 

Required Competencies:

- 5 years or more business systems analysis experience working on financial projects

- Highly motivated, self-starting with the ability to use sound judgement when working with partners

- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management; prepare and conduct presentations

- Strong experience in eliciting and documenting business requirements

- Solid understanding of project life cycle and methodology (i.e., Summit).

- Experience in preparing a fit-gap analysis is helpful

- Knowledge of financial and accounting principles is a significant plus

- Knowledge of mainframe systems and/or PeopleSoft (General Ledger, Billing, Accounts Receivable), and Hyperion products is a significant plus

- Knowledge and experience with QA testing is helpful
