Purpose of Position:

The Sr. Business Systems Analyst is an empowered team member and leader, knowledgeable in the business, who deploys best practices to facilitate the elicitation, organization and documentation of business requirements, working with members of assigned PHCS business units. Ensure that the project team develops solutions that meet the customer's real needs; minimizes requirement defects up front, establish and maintain agreement between the customer and project team on requirements for the project deliverables on projects that are complex and not always clearly defined.

Essential Functions:

Actively solicits, analyzes and negotiates customer requirements in order to ensure that the project team can develop solutions that meet the customer's real needs; minimize requirement defects up front, establish and maintain agreement between the customer and project team on requirements for the project deliverables.

Works independently on projects that may not be clearly defined and are large in scope.

Manages multiple priorities, customer expectations and relationships with all stakeholders including IST staff and business staff. Manages relationships with customers, project managers, and any/all levels of management. Interacts with senior and executive level PHCS staff.

Interacts with senior and executive level PHCS staff.

Meets and works with project business sponsors, software end-users, applications development staff, and others as necessary to perform assignments.

Performs project manager role on projects, as needed.

Qualifications:

BS/BA Computer Science

5 to 7 years of analysis and design on software development projects.

2-3 years of prior experience as a BSA.

Experienced in the healthcare business area.

Good interpersonal and communications skills.

Excellent writing skills.

Business process modeling

Skilled with interacting with the business community

Good negotiation and presentation skills.

Prior experience and knowledge of PHCS standard development tools and platforms desirable.

Experience with documented software development methodology and understanding of all stages of project life cycle a plus.

Specific positions may require specialized knowledge or experience in some areas (e.g., data warehousing, data cleansing, data repositories, systems evaluation and implementation, etc.)

Understanding of software development project life cycle.

Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies a plus.

General, up to date knowledge on current technologies and trends.

Experience with use case analysis.
