Summary

The primary focus of the DB2 DBA position is to design, create and administer development and production databases. This position also requires problem solving and logical thought process. Responsibilities for this position include requirements gathering, design, development and integration of new database applications as well as maintenance of existing ones.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 Design, build, document and maintain databases 
 Communicate with management and clients, create use cases and gather system requirements
 Entity relationship modeling, security, developing SQL scripts 
 Data warehousing and project management 
 Develop implementation plans
 Design test scenarios
 Perform testing on databases 
 Participate in all phases of the database development and production process
 Interact with application programming teams 
 Other functions as required in the performance of TRX daily business requirements

Position Requirements

 Production support and application development experience
 Solid DB2 DBA skills
 Must be flexible to work when needed with appropriate notice
 Work effectively in a team environment


Education and/or Experience

 A bachelors degree in Computer Sciences or related field, or equivalent work experience 
 5+ years of relational database administration and design experience 
 Experience with DB2 UDB
