Sr. Data Modeler

CIBER has an immediate need for a Sr. Data Modeler in the Portland, OR area with the following skills.

 

Purpose: Provide leadership in database and data warehouse architecture, design, and implementation for application projects, service and support requests.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

? Work with project team to lead creation of data model

? Ability to deliver data model to ETL development resources for execution

? Ability to translate high level business requirements and system specifications into functional design

? Ability to work independently or as part of a team

 

Required Knowledge and Experience:

? Bachelors degree in information systems, computer science or related field

? At least five years progressively responsible IT experience

? Advanced technical proficiency in data warehouse and database technologies (DB2, SQL, and UDB knowledge required)

? Familiar with data warehouse architecture, ODS, and data marts

? Experience with data modeling using ERWIN

? Familiarity with Quest DB2 Connect & UNIX AIX Scripting

? Relational and dimensional modeling techniques (both Inmon and Kimball concepts)

? Experience with Star and/or  Snowflake Schemas

? Experience with OLAP tools

? Experience with Model Manager

? Excellent oral and written (including technical writing) communication skills

? Excellent decision-making and problem solving

? Proficiency in Microsoft Office

 

Preferred Knowledge and Experience:

? Previous experience working as part of a business intelligence team

? Previous experience in IMS

? Previous experience in SAP

? Previous experience in ETL (Informatica)

? Experience with Sales Data preferred
