Sprint has an exciting opportunity in Network Services for a Sr. RF Engineer! Are you a demonstrated leader with the desire and leadership skills necessary to become our next Sr. RF Engineer?

The Senior RF Engineer will have an in-depth understanding of the details surrounding Radio Frequency (RF) network design, capacity planning, and optimization activities for a specific market or region of the country. The Senior RF Engineer will have supervisory responsibilities for Associate Engineers I and II, Optimization Specialists, and RF Engineers I and II. These responsibilities include hiring, training, team development and administrative activities. The Senior RF Engineer must have the ability to determine optimal cell placement based on factors relating to zoning restrictions, regulatory related issues, handoff status, path balance, RF interference, coverage footprint and capacity management. The Senior RF Engineer must be well versed in the specific requirements associated with the lower level RF engineering positions.

The RF capacity planning skills and knowledge required for the position will include the ability to plan network capacity improvements based of subscriber forecasts, market call models and trending of performance and traffic data. The engineer will be able to design and implement network capacity improvements such as multiple carrier overlays, cell splits and channel element additions. The ability to use various platforms such as MapInfo, Planet, UNIX, MS Office, etc. is required. The engineer must also have the ability to generate the documentation required to support the acquisition process for capital funding. The ability to post process and interpret the meaning and validity of the data collected is necessary. The engineer is responsible for recommending network and parameter changes, submission of network change management work orders and ensuring those recommendations are properly implemented. The engineer will have the ability to integrate new sites, optimize existing clusters, optimize cell splits and optimize multiple carrier overlays.
