Sr. Flash/Action Script Developer

Our client, a leader in the food & beverage industry, is currently seeking a E-Learner pro to help program, develop and maintain their E-Learning architecture and support the production of technology-based instructional programs.

In this position, you will produce technology-based training products that are technically accurate and meet the requirements of the project.  In addition, you will produce and maintain customized technology-based training products and build backend technologies for courseware to function in E-Learning standards environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

- Manage product development projects as assigned, which includes identifying technical and functional design requirements for technology-based projects, researching new technologies, preparing timelines and development schedules, projecting budgetary needs for the project, managing internal staff and contractors, budget and timeline.

- Select and or build the backend technologies for courseware to function in E-Learning standards environments. Integrate courseware with internal and external LMS's that follow E-Learning standards. Work closely with internal IT department on internal hosting, planning, integration, and QA.

- Execute technology-based product development projects as the developer/programmer. This includes programming, documenting and maintaining technology-based programs with the assistance of subject matter experts, Graphic Designers, Instructional Designers and other Product Development personnel. Manage junior programmers/developers. Also included in this role is the management of budget and resources assigned to the project and the identification and resolutions of issues related to the success of the project.

- Assist in planning and executing technology-based customization projects. This includes understanding requirements of the client, assistance in creating a proposal, and execution of the project. Research and track progress of E-Learning and web tools and methods, and provide strategic technology planning. This role may include estimating budgets, and timelines for technology-based customization projects. Identifying and managing vendors for technology-based projects.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

- Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or other technology-related field.

- Five years or more of designing and developing technology-based educational and training materials is required.

- Extensive experience in the development and programming of technology-based training products.  Thorough working knowledge of Flash, HTML, JavaScript, XML and other web-based programming languages.

- Experience developing web and CD-ROM based training applications.  Knowledge of graphic design, image optimization, audio and video production, video and audio digital compression techniques, and Instructional Design methodologies are a plus.

- Experience in E-Learning backend development, SCORM and AICC standards, Flash production XML, Javascript Actionscript, XML, and Javascript is required.

- Experience with, ASP, Cold Fusion, and other technologies useful for building E-Learning is a plus.

- Ability to integrate online technology-based training programs with standard Learning Management Systems. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Project. Experience in programming, project management, technology-based training development, and Flash programming is required.

- Knowledge of graphic design, interface design a plus.
