Sr. IT Specialist II

. Responsibilities: -To support Gilead's business by providing infrastructure procurement, deployment, maintenance and support services
-Responsible for working within infrastructure operational guidelines
-Propose suitable IT infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements and needs
-Assist with implementation and support of new initiatives
-Develop, optimize and document infrastructure related process and procedure per Gilead and IT standards
-Ensures all phases of support, including installations, upgrades, software, hardware, operating systems and configuration issues are properly coordinated, monitored, tracked and resolved.
-Maintains security of IT systems.
-Helps management to develop information technology projects.
-Works on specific projects under direction from immediate manager. May work as a project team member on global projects.
-Analyzes new technologies and advises management on suitability. Interacts with vendors and IT leaders on support issues and implementations. Provide guidance and assistance to less experience staff and clients.
-Proactively address intricate issues that have potential impact for site. May serve in a lead capacity providing guidance and direction of a work group or project team.
-Keep abreast of ongoing business activities, future business plans as well as FDA/GxP requirements.
-Partner with global IT staff to ensure IT projects are in line with global IT strategic plan.
-Identify risks and devise problem-solving strategies
-Complete deliverables in a timely manner
-Communicate task status to manager and creating periodic management and operational reports.
-Communicating effectively between infrastructure and IT business application development in the areas of system and application evaluation, development, upgrade and migration.

Requirements:

- Undergraduate degree, preferable in Computer Science or MIS.
- 5-7 years of working experience
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience within IT infrastructure (server, storage & network).
- Minimum of 3 years working experience in area of server/system administration, maintenance & monitor, virus protection, security monitoring, patch management, backup operation (Veritas NetBackup), Virtue infrastructure (VMWare) and storage management (NetApp SAN/NAS)
- Minimum of 2 years of working experience in infrastructure control process development and implementation
- Minimum, 2 years working experience within IT Data Center environment
- Strong knowledge of IT service (delivery & support) management framework (ITIL)
- Excellent written and verbal communication, strong process and coordination skill, highly organized and detail oriented
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively with limited oversight
- Broad knowledge of current technologies and future trend with the ability to apply technical knowledge to solving business problems is required.
- Strong Problem Solving and Analytical Skills
- Ability to take initiative and responsibility
- Background in Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology industry preferred
- Microsoft and infrastructure related certification a plus
