Sr. Java Developer/Technical Lead

The Aquent IT Solutions Division currently has an opening for a salaried Java/J2EE Sr. Developer at our Software Development Center in East Moline, Illinois.

The following types of activities would be expected of someone in the position:
*Analyze specifications and create the required classes and data structures from scratch to implement the requirements in an independent manner, with minimal direction from the Tech Lead.
*Analyze existing code to understand functionality and to make changes or bug fixes where required
*Use proper coding techniques and language constructs to write clean, maintainable, documented code
*Perform testing of Java code to identify problems

The following skills are required:
*Solid problem-solving abilities
*Ability to quickly adapt to different technologies, tools, and methodologies
*OO Design experience
*In-depth knowledge and experience with the Java language and differences between JDK versions
*Working knowledge of Java servlet/J2EE container functionality
*JSP Development experience using scriptlets and tag libraries
*HTML and Javascript knowledge

The following skills are considered highly beneficial:
*Experience with writing complex SQL Queries
*Ability to design database tables and relationships
*Knowledge of creating custom tag libraries or using standard tag libraries
*Experience using the Eclipse development environment
*In-depth knowledge of HTML and Javascript

The following skills are also beneficial:
*Database maintenance
*Stored procedures
*Struts / Spring
*JUnit
*ANT
*VBScript for MS Office
*Perl
*Source control (CVS, SVN)
