Sr. Java J2EE Software Engineer - U.S. Citizen

Our client is seeking an experienced Software Engineer III (Senior) to work out of our Headquarters office in Arlington, VA, supporting our Product Engineering division. 

 

Must be a U.S. Citizen

 

Job Duties include:

? Design, modify, develop, write and implement software programming applications

? Support and/or install software applications

? Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software

? Employ commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in software development, particularly in J2EE

? Conform to instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job

? Occasionally modify existing guidelines/procedures as well as establish new ones

? Work independently most of the time

? Primary job functions do require exercising independent judgment

? Typically reports to a lead architect or development director and generally manages a group of software engineers

? Relies on experience and judgment to secure resources, plan the work effort and accomplish stated goals

? A greater degree of creativity and latitude is required

 

Required qualifications:

? 6+ years of overall software development experience, 4+ years in Java

? 3+ years of hands-on architecture and development experience in J2EE including JSP, Servlet, EJB, JMS, JDBC, JNDI and Struts (Apache)

? Thorough understanding of OOA/OOD, UML, design patterns and software development life cycle

? Expert in front-end technologies including HTML, DHTML, CSS, JSP and JavaScript

? Hands-on experience in SOAP/WSDL/UDDI

? Solid experience in more than one of the following market-leading application servers:  WebLogic, WebSphere, SunOne, Oracle 9iAS, Jboss/Tomcat

? Solid experience on either Oracle 8i/9i or DB2 8.1

? Strong knowledge on XML, DTD/Schema, SAX/DOM and Java programming with XML

? Enthusiastic, reliable individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

? B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
