Sr. Linux / Unix Administrator
New position with a new group at Client,
5+ years experience
Sun Solaris Unix admin, with lots of Linux, but a mix of other flavors
At least a Bachelors degree in CS, Masters is good but not requirement
They are looking for someone who is hard working, honest, and lives locally.
Typical day: a lot of installations of new computers, upgrading all the time, building web servers (so some apache experience is helpful), monitoring, maintaining, security
Some programming/scripting language helpful (doesn?t matter what language, whatever they like to script in, that?s what they can use)
Responsible for 300 servers, 100 work stations
Not really looking for a junior level ? mid to senior.
There are currently 4 in the group ? you would be the 5th.
The group sits right next to the computer room, they have their own lab, good group of folks ? youngest has been there more than 3 years.
