We are looking for a senior load / performance test engineer with a passion for performance testing, scalability, and test automation.  The ideal candidate will possess strong Mercury and scripting programming skills, and will have experience in applying off-the-shelf performance tools to profile applications.

You will gather system requirements and work with application teams and other performance engineers to design and execute test cases for performance and system Testing.  Working with application analysts and engineers, Project Leads, assist in performing analysis, and trouble-shooting bottlenecks and performance issues. Utilize load testing tools such as LoadRunner Controller, and LoadRunner Virtual User Generator (VuGen). Install load tools and build the load generating environment. Experience configuring hardware to act as controllers and load generators.  Perform configuration and troubleshooting in a, Windows NT/2000//2003/XP, and UNIX/LINUX multi-platform environment.

<b>Other specific requirements:</b>

  Create and maintain performance test scripts using Mercury Interactive's LoadRunner and/or any other necessary tools
  Collaborate closely with cross organizational teams in understanding performance requirements, agreeing on approach, leverage subject area expertise and obtain sign off for recommendations.  This requires excellent verbal and written communication skills to ensure that clarity is achieved during the test cycle
  Execute and direct the execution of Capacity, Stress, Benchmarking, Scalability and Performance tests on applications and/or infrastructure components
  Utilizing Patrol, Best/1 and/or SAS, measure resource consumption of components, processes and latency at measurable points in the systems under test
  Identify application short comings and bottlenecks, and assist development and infrastructure teams with improving application performance and reducing latency by identifying issues and coordinating retests
  Build and deliver Final Test Reports that summarize the application under test, out line the approach and objective of the test, describe the test cases and execution, clearly identify the test results and identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement. The reports will be used by diverse audiences including infrastructure, business management and development teams
  Work with the network team to run tests that will reveal the application's behavior over the network.  Identify bandwidth and latency issues that may occur when the application is moved to production and work with the application team to perform retests when required
  Responsible for configuring, administering and troubleshooting software test environments
  Manage multiple projects by effectively establishing scope, identify dependencies, develop detailed timelines, track progress, escalate issues, and regularly communicate project status
  Recommends strategies and methods to improve test plans and test processes
  Provides technical leadership, mentoring and training to other team members
  Develops strategic partnerships with the business groups, Product Management Office and Development teams
 

 

 Is the technical lead for other Load / Performance Test Engineers.

 

  Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  At least 7+ year's software testing experience
  In-depth, thorough hands on experience in load/performance testing and analysis
  Expert knowledge of Mercury automated testing tools (LoadRunner TestCenter, QTP, Quality Center, and SiteScope)
  Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g. Partrol, Best/1, and SAS)
  Experience testing J2EE applications (e.g. Weblogic, Websphere, and JBoss), .NET, Business Objects and Citrix (2-tier) applications
  Solid understanding of Java OO development techniques and the Java language
  Experience with Java profiling tools such as ServerTrace
  Sharp, current technical skills with an ability to write scripts using various scripting languages (e.g. UNIX shell, Perl, MS-DOS batch)
  Demonstrated proficiency in testing methodologies
  Experience with financial and internet applications is a plus
  Familiar with QA Standards and procedures
  Can create test plans and test cases that verify specific business requirements
  Willing and able to learn new tools and technologies as required
  Solid oral and written communication skills
  Solid project management/time management skills
  Good quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and ability to present complex data
