Sr Member-Technical Staff
Description:
This position is responsible for performing high-level technical administration and/or analysis activities (e.g., systems-related requirements collection/analysis, sub-system architectural design, etc.) relating to information systems. The incumbent works independently, and provides technical leadership and subject matter expertise. The Senior Member of Technical Staff is also responsible for evaluating and developing reliable and efficient automated solutions to fulfill complex business requirements.
Works as a team member and provides technical leadership and subject matter expertise on large, highly complex projects. Regularly leads projects and provides direction to staff members and peers.
Completes assigned technical tasks on time. Collects system requirements, performs analysis, writes system specifications and develops designs.
Responsible for producing high quality deliverables in a timely fashion. Performs technical product evaluations and makes product decisions.
Responsible for developing and adhering to established systems standards and procedures. Works closely with management in project planning, sizing, configuration, staffing, scheduling, and implementation activities. Proactively monitors and controls all systems and to maximize quality and efficiency.
Evaluates and develops solutions to fulfill business requirements. Proactively communicates status reports and issues to manager. Successfully completes all relevant general and technical training programs in accordance with Performance Agreement goals and objectives.
The position will be titled as Sr. Data Center Environmental Specialist. We are seeking candidates with over 7 years of large-scale power, HVAC, and data center facilities experience Duties: The Senior Member of Technical Staff is responsible for maintaining the power and HVAC infrastructure supporting a 40,000 sq ft data center. The Senior Member of Technical Staff is also responsible for coordinating and maintaining equipment installation activities, circuit inventories, space planning, and preventive maintenance programs. The incumbent works independently, and provides technical leadership and subject matter expertise. The Senior Member of Technical Staff is also responsible for evaluating and developing reliable and efficient solutions to fulfill complex business requirements. Supervision may be needed on complex tasks only. Works as a team member and provides technical leadership and subject matter expertise on large, highly complex projects. Regularly leads projects and provides direction to staff members and peers. Completes assigned technical tasks on time (e.g., installation requests, system upgrades, etc.). Collects system requirements, performs analysis and makes recommendations for capacity upgrades. Responsible for producing high quality deliverables on a timely fashion. Performs technical product evaluations and makes product decisions. Responsible for developing and adhering to established facility standards and procedures. Works closely with Technology Support management in project planning, sizing, configuration, staffing, scheduling, and implementation activities. Proactively monitors and controls all production systems to maximize systems availability. Analyzes and ensures the resolution of technical and client problems while providing quality customer service. Evaluates and develops operational solutions to fulfill business requirements. Proactively communicates status reports and issues to manager. Successfully completes all relevant general and technical training programs in accordance with Performance Agreement goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or Electrical Engineering
5 to 7 years of data center facilities management or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Excellent technical (e.g., systems design) and/or analytical skills
Excellent knowledge of networking (e.g., LAN/WAN) and/or computer (e.g., micro, mainframe) operations
PC and desktop applications competency (e.g., Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, e-mail, etc.)
Working knowledge of project management concepts
Excellent business knowledge
In-depth knowledge of information systems concepts
In-depth knowledge of applicable methodologies, tools, standards, and procedures
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong Decision-making and leadership abilities
Excellent organizational and problem solving abilities
Ability to understand and convery complex technical information
Ability to identify, define and solve system problem of users/departments, using a variety of computer related tools
Working knowledge of project management concepts
Excellent business knowledge
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Off-Hour support and on-call coverage is required
