Sr. Network Administrator

Summary:

Evaluates, designs, and maintains local area network (LAN) and data network.  Troubleshoots LAN and data network problems.  Administers departmental LAN or shared software and hardware.  Sets up user accounts on company?s servers and runs necessary system backups.  Provides technical support for PC?s and LAN network.

 

Qualification Requirements:

 

Education:

BA/BS degree or equivalent education and experience.

 

Experience:

3-4 years? experience with Cisco Routers and firewalls; design and deployment of heterogeneous VPN

Solutions; experience with various types of DHCP servers; use or deployment of Intrusion Detection

Systems; and experience with monitoring and base lining network performance.  Experience and

proficiency in the configuration and deployment of UNIX routers and firewalls (BSD and Linux based)

required.

 

Skills: 

Effective communication skills and ability to prioritize and organize.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Network topology design for new network deployment.

Network capacity planning.

Evaluation and performance tuning of existing networks.

Firewall maintenance and configuration.

Network security evaluations.

Daily monitoring of performance of local and remote networks and locations.
