Sr. Network Engineer/Delivery Analyst

The Senior Network Engineer position will be responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting the Children?s Medical Center data network.  The data network consists of  routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and other network hardware.  This position will also monitor the business environment and assess technological trends and advancements to determine the feasibility of integrating new technology into the existing corporate infrastructure.  This person will be expected to assume the lead role in highly complex troubleshooting/support/design tasks.

 

Qualified candidates should possess:

?  Bachelor Degree in Engineering discipline or Information System.

?  High degree of professionalism, customer service and enthusiasm.

?  Certification such as CCIE or related educational experience in Layer-2 and Layer-3 technologies and the three disciplines of routing/switching, voice, and security is highly desired.

?  7+ years experience designing, implementing and supporting complex highly-available redundant networks, specifically with Cisco routers, switches and firewalls.

?  Strong experience in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and TACACS/RADIUS.

?  Thorough understanding/experience with the following routing protocols: PIM, EIGRP  and BGP.

?  Solid knowledge in LAN, WAN, MAN, VPN and network security technologies.

?  Experience in Multicasting, QOS, and VPN.

?  Experience in WAN Transport using ISDN BRI, PRI, T1, GigaMAN, T3.

?  Good knowledge of various internetworking concepts such as SNMP, PPP, HSRP, NAT, IPSec, CEF, EtherChannel, bonding, and load balancing.

?  Strong knowledge of 802.11 wireless protocols and authentication, WLSE, WLSM.

?  Strong experience in network security audit, policy and security devices (e.g. VPN concentrators, firewall, access policies).

?  Extensive knowledge of network security design and best practices; Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).

?  Proficient knowledge and experience with network and systems management/analysis tools such as Cisco Info Center, Aprisma Spectrum, Lucent Vital Suites, CiscoWorks, MRTG, Distributed Sniffer, etc.

?  Strong knowledge of ethernet switching, VLANS, etherchannel, port security, spanning tree optimization.

?  Strong knowledge of Cisco Content Engines/switches, Websense-integration.
