Job Title: Sr. Network and Security Administrator
Job Purpose: Establishes and maintains LAN and WAN infrastructures to support a global software development company.
The Network Administrator?s role is to ensure the stable operation of Business Engine?s global data networks and mobile technologies. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all LAN hardware, software, and communication links. This position is also responsible for analyzing and resolving end user hardware/software computer problems in a timely and accurate manner. Provide user training where required as it relates to corporate systems and IT policies.
The corporate security role as it relates to this position is to ensure the secure operation of the in-house computer systems, servers, and network connections. This includes reviewing server and firewall logs, scrutinizing network traffic, establishing and updating virus scans. This person will also analyze and resolve security breaches and vulnerability issues in a timely and accurate manner and conduct user activity audits as required.
Responsibilities:
Deploy, manage, and maintain servers, including but not limited to corporate email, File, DNS, print, corporate web site, and backup servers and their associated software.Manage all server, desktop, and laptop equipment installations, maintenance, and upgrades. This includes mobile devices such as RIM and Treo.Administer installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user hardware, software, and peripheral devices.Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery.Deploy, manage, and maintain all security systems including facility access, firewalls, anti-virus, and anti-spam systems.Develop, implement, maintain, and oversee enforcement of policies, procedures, and associated plans for system security administration and user system access based on industry-standard best practices. This includes administration and maintenance of end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.Manage connection security for LANs, remote access, corporate web site, intranet, and email communications.Perform critical system backups and recovery.Manage and maintain corporate equipment inventory.Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects.
Skills:
In-depth technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems including MS Windows XX.In-depth technical knowledge and hands on administration of MS Active Directory and Exchange.Extensive application support experience with MS applications.Project Management, Problem Solving, LAN Knowledge a must.Exceptional written and oral communications skills.Must be a self starter with great initiative. Must be able to work as a team member and independently as required.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years direct experience troubleshooting and maintaining MS networking platforms specifically utilizing Active Directory and Exchange.Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent.Microsoft Certifications highly recommended.Experience with ISP/ASP hosting is desired.On-call availability 24/7.
