The Senior Oracle Apps DBA will be part of a team of DBA professionals that develop, manage, maintain and troubleshoot the production, development and the testing of databases.  This position will support Oracle E-Business Suite 11i production and development instances and work with consultants/programmers/analysts to ensure that the technical requirements are met in each development/testing environment.

 

Job Description/Required Experience:

 New installation and patching of Oracle Applications 11i running on Oracle9i in Solaris environment. Cloning of Oracle Applications 11i running on Oracle9i in Solaris environment. Tuning Oracle 9i & 10G Databases.Designing and implementing Backup/Recovery strategies.Database upgrades from version 9.x to /10g.Experience with Shareplex (Quest replication software).Database performance monitoring, tuning, planning and problem resolution and data dictionary administration. Database installations and configuring Oracle Application Server 10G.Oracle Enterprise manager & other database monitoring toolsTechnical design, development and proactive maintenance of databases and the associated files to ensure accessibility, security and integrity of company data.Proficient in all aspects of Oracle System Administration functionality within E-Business Suite. Working knowledge of Parallel Concurrent Processing, Oracle Workflow, OAM, Notification mailer, framework.

 

Qualifications:

 Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder.Minimum 7 years experience supporting a production Oracle E-Business Suite environment.BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience Experience supporting 11.5.10 in a production environmentMinimum 5 years experience with Oracle on UNIX shell scripting and extensive UNIX backgroundDemonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple problems and issues with minimal supervision, excellent  organizational skills, a teamwork approach to work but also act independently to solve problems when necessaryStrong troubleshooting and problem solving skills, resiliency in the face of continual change, and ability to handle high demandsGood oral and written English communication skills, strong interpersonal skillsCandidate must also live in the San Jose/Silicon Valley area.

 

Pluses:

 Knowledge of  manufacturing modulesExperience with Middleware components such as OID and SSO
