Sr. Principal IT Architect

Job Description: The Raytheon Software Development & Integration (SDI) team is seeking Sr. Enterprise and System Architects to assist multiple development teams in transforming heterogeneous applications to a service-oriented architecture paradigm through:
- Analysis of existing applications, infrastructure systems, components, designs and code
- Analysis of existing software development methods, tools and environments
- Analysis of existing project management and quality engineering methods
- Identification of immediate as well as longer term corrective actions to help the family of systems meet their users? needs and evolve into a de-coupled, component-based sets of services
- Development of target architecture blueprints and guidelines for architectural transformation
- Elaboration of the architecture target and its components into individual development teams
- Presentation and implementation of best-practices methods for development of re-usable components within a heterogeneous development environment
- Articulation of strategic architecture themes to the tactical and individual developer level
- Mentoring and monitoring development teams in the transformation effort and providing support to developers
- Identification of enterprise-level service components and development of service registries and repositories.

Required Skills:

BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline and 10-12 years enterprise IT architecture experience. Specific experience should include:
- Experience with UML notation, RUP, Agile programming, Xtreme programming and knowledge of pros/cons of each approach
- Previous experience in legacy systems transformation
- Familiarity with FEAF, EA and various reference models
- Experience in aligning families of systems with agency-level EA guidelines
- Ability to thrive in a matrix organization
- Familiarity with database design, enterprise data modeling, ETL, DB consolidation and normalization.
