Senior Program Manager
Location: Sandpoint, ID



Job Responsibilities:
Help provide a framework for program management that defines a structured project methodology, including: project definition, approval and communication; systematic project controls and performance measurements; executive level reporting and metrics
Integrate the program management framework with Project Management Office efforts to provide expert project management support for strategic corporate initiatives
Establish program management controls to allow for timely impact analysis and benefits reassessment throughout the program
Communicate with senior management to ensure that they are appropriately briefed by facilitating summarized reporting across major projects
Identify and manage cross-project dependencies and resolve conflicting priorities
Facilitate and ensure cross-functional resource support for projects.
Identify and mitigate program risks that directly impact the realization of benefits
Participate in business and strategic planning sessions to ensure project alignment with organizational goals and priorities
Participate in the management and reporting of capital budgets associated with technology projects as required
Develop and report progress against formal schedules and overall milestones across all projects
Regularly report and proactively identify project delays and bottle-necks
Provide detailed, project and program management for major initiatives Negotiates project scope and delivery options with client;
Consults with business unit management and personnel to obtain additional information during system development and evaluate alternatives
Drive business case development
Prepare time and cost estimates for completing projects;
Establish and maintain communications and rapport with clients and IT;
Act as the point-of-entry for large scale technology projects coming into IT
Develop processes for concept and scoping of technology projects
Develop processes for ensuring that technologies are reviewed for architectural compliance
Drive resource management processes and tools for accurately estimating resource requirements
Understand the dynamics and financial issues of the company, which involves sequencing projects and determining the business opportunities to balance value and mitigate risk
Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of project and program management principles and practices in broad areas of assignments
Plan and manage multiple IT projects with responsibility for coordinating efforts between various functional and corporate groups
Leverage IT standards and technologies, and ensure alignment with business and IT strategic direction.




Job Requirements:
Ability to creatively and effectively manage projects and processes required to implement the vision of how IT will deliver technology, and enable business capability in support of business initiatives
Ability to develop/identify breakthrough and quality improvement opportunities and manages IT implementations
Ability to communicate technical information both orally and in writing
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the business community, IT team, and software vendors
Capable of handling multiple complex projects and programs and prioritize accordingly
Ability to plan and effectively implement complex programs
Ability to prepare documentation, charts, and graphs pertinent to work assignments
Ability to creatively and effectively manage projects and processes required to implement the vision of how IT will deliver technology, and enable business capability in support of business initiatives
Accountable for developing and managing business and project plans
Serves as a leader and role model for the IT organization by demonstrating and encouraging continuous technology excellence and acting as a change agent for the broader organization
Ability to develop/identify breakthrough and quality improvement opportunities and manages IT implementations
Ability to assess business needs and propose appropriate technical solutions using the latest IT trends and standards
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification by the Project Management Institute (PMI)
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or MIS, or equivalent work experience
8+ years experience in applications planning, analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, reporting, and problem diagnosis; or any equivalent combination of experience and training
10+ years experience with Information Technology projects
10+ years experience in IT Project and Program Management
Ability to work in a team environment
Knowledge of technical and business writing
Willingness to document all work according to internal standards
Knowledge of applications development, including systems analysis and design techniques, problem determination, project control, contract/vendor administration and structured system development methodologies
Highly self-motivated and directed
Keen attention to detail
Exceptional customer service orientation
Perform other duties as assigned



Area Specific Requirements:
Retail background highly preferred
Experience with complex projects and management of distributed project resource team
Experience in simultaneous execution and management of multiple projects
Experience in implementing and/or applying a Project Management Methodology
Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate, manage, and ensure the success of large-scale global IT projects
Exceptional interpersonal skills: can operate successfully within cross-functional teams at all levels of the company
Excellent influencing skills at all levels and ability to develop and maintain good relationships
Must be self-motivated and highly professional with exceptional verbal and written communications skills
Must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
