Our client has engaged us to source a Sr. Software Development Project Manager to work in their Nashville corporate offices. The project manager role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading the efforts of software development projects in all phases of the software development life cycle.  The project manager will serve as the primary point of contact for project-level communication including plans, status, issues, and risks.  The project manager will work to facilitate progress and good communication between all groups related to the project.  The project manager will implement proven business practices to lead the project.  This includes applying existing processes as well as identifying areas where process should be implemented or improved. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments.

 

This position is a fulltime role based in Nashville, TN and would require someone to be located in the surrounding area and or willing to relocate.

 

Responsibilities:Develop a detailed work breakdown structure for projectsDevelop estimates for potential projectsIdentify project resource needs and facilitate acquiring those resourcesDevelop and manage project budgetManage project scope and requirements changesCommunicate status to all team members, stakeholders and managementFacilitate team communication and progressDocument risks and identify mitigation strategiesReview deliverables for completeness and accuracyFacilitate post project reviews to identify areas of success and improvement opportunitiesProvide recognition to team members for accomplishmentsImplement project development best practicesIdentify areas of process improvement and define processes to meet the needed improvementReview system design plans for reasonableness and fit with the business requirements

 

Position Requirements:

 College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, management information systems or similar and 7 to 10 years related work experience.Demonstrated project management skills.Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products in multi-site customer service operations in software industries.  Experience Project Managing small to large sized projects.  Some hands-on IT development experience is a plus.  Working technical knowledge of application structure and use of an application support matrix.Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including how desktop clients are hosted, change control process and Service Desk problem reporting.Working knowledge of current network connectivity, protocols, and standards, including security, user rights assignment, and standard company policy.High-level understanding of database hardware, software, and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies and applications.Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.Highly self motivated and directed.Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.Strong customer service orientation.Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
