We are currently seeking a talented Sr. Property/Loss Systems Analyst to work in our Portsmouth, NH office on the Claims Management Systems team.
As a Sr. Property/Loss Systems Analyst you will establish and continually enhance a set of technology tools and solutions that improve all aspects of underwriting, claims, and reinsurance. This includes legacy, underwriting and claims applications.
General responsibilities:
o Analyze and evaluate existing claims systems and procedures, and recommend methods of improvement.
o Evaluate complex business requirements and models data and / or system requirements.
o Re-engineer business operations to improve business results and operational effectiveness.
o Perform systems studies to improve operational efficiency; and develop and recommend solutions to improve claims processes.
o Research, develop, and pre-test new methods and procedures for improving processes.
o Analyze and document complex business problems.
o Develop and implement business testing strategies.
o Coordinate upgrades and rollouts of larger more complex projects.
o Lead projects or sub-projects.
Primary responsibilities:
o Define in coordination with Claims team to ensure that the Claims Department initiatives and processes are positively impacted through technology.
o Coordinate joint global claims technology solutions.
o Establish and implement the sourcing approach for identifying the technology partners that will be utilized to implement the appropriate solutions.
o Coordinate the requirements from the various businesses for the claims' standards, information and workflows.
o Ensure that effective project management practices are followed in the implementation of the claims systems.
o Establish key standards in the design of the claims systems.
o Work closely with the Claims Department to direct the ongoing evolution of the underwriting/claims systems.
o Keep current with IT technology trends and changes and identify opportunities.
This position requires occasional travel.
Qualifications:
Skill requirements:
o Bachelor's degree in business or technical discipline or equivalent experience.
o Minimum of 5 years' related experience in claims, property, and loss operations, as well as business process and information flow.
o 3-5 years' experience with insurance processing systems, particularly in the areas of claims, underwriting standards, selection and pricing. Use of Xactimate preferred.
o Understanding of business practices common across many industries.
o Understanding of insurance claims/reinsurance and downstream legacy systems.
o Thorough understanding of newer technologies used to interface with legacy systems.
o Experience in working directly with various types of insurance companies.
o Strong legacy background and integration of web technologies to enhance reach and usability.
o Demonstrated ability to work across the organization to influence outcomes and gain broad buy-in.
o Experience in negotiating and managing vendor-supplied technical solutions.
o Ability to effectively communicate value and benefits of technical strategies and solutions.
o Understanding of future IT trends with an ability to identify issues and implications arising out of them.
o Strong analytical, diplomacy, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
o Demonstrated self-direction skills and strong business relationship skills.
o Understand and apply best-practice methodologies within a property/loss environment.
o Experience developing collaborative relationships and partnerships with the business and technology departments that drive business results.

Desirable Skill and Experience:
o Experience with Xactimate and/or Vision software preferred.
