Personal Market Systems Operations is currently seeking a talented Sr. Publishing Management (DocuCorp/DocuMaker) Project Manager to work in our Portsmouth, NH office on the Systems Integration team.
As a Sr. Publishing Management (DocuCorp/DocuMaker) Project Manager you will drive this position. It is a business/customer interactive position; viewed as an architect of business process; a non-administrative, very much hands-on position. You would be expected to apply a business approach to this strategic position. You must be proactive in anticipating, managing and communicating project risks and issues, and understanding, evaluating, resolving, and mitigating obstacles to implementation via a collaborative approach.
General responsibilities:
o Manages a project of high risk and value (providing a change to technology or business direction) or a product, operation or portfolio.
o Manages team which is generally composed of a minimum of 8-10 people.
o Accountable for the project execution and operational delivery of project work-streams identified, defined and aligned under the program.
o Accountable for defining, negotiating and proactively managing project scope, schedule, resources and budget.
o Monitor progress by providing periodic project status updates including progress, milestones and issues.
o Ensure production of quality project deliverables that are aligned with PMO and business expectations and are completed in compliance with established processes.
Primary responsibilities:
o Plan, manage and monitor project activities and budget from onset to project close-out, adhering to and in compliance with the information systems life cycle.
o Participate in ensuring that key initiatives and process improvements are fully evaluated from strategic and tactical perspectives within the program.
o Participate in evaluating emerging techniques and technologies defined under the program and posses the ability to demonstrate the value of the application to key business partners.
o Be responsible for defining comprehensive roles and responsibilities and delivery to project team staff and be accountable for proactively anticipating and managing project risks and issues and reporting to Program Manager as appropriate.
o Liaise with Program Manager to ensure open communication, inclusiveness and transparency between PMO and project work stream.
o Contribute and provide support in third-party partnership and relationship activities.
o Ensure that project work stream is properly defined, scoped and resourced. Escalate to Program Manager as appropriate
o Ensure technical design recommendations and considerations are accurately and clearly documented, communicated and understood. This includes supporting information as required to understand the rationale behind these recommendations.
o Partner with division/department heads to assess needs as well as provide feedback and direction.
Qualifications:
Skill requirements:
o Bachelors degree (Master's degree preferred) in business or technical discipline or equivalent experience.
o Minimum of 5 years' related experience in project management, systems management, business operations, objectives and strategies as well as business process and information flow; publishing management preferred.
o Understanding of business practices common across many industries.
o Extensive understanding of re-engineering approaches.
o Strong knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies; general knowledge of diverse technologies and new and current architectures.
o Skills in object, data and / or process modeling; financial analysis and planning, business value analysis; business process design.
o 5-7 years' experience in the design and development of publishing systems.
o Understand and apply best-practice methodologies of publishing technology.
o Experience developing collaborative relationships and partnerships with the business and technology departments that drive business results.
o Practice in business process consulting and analysis.
o Ability to lead and facilitate checkpoint meetings and project meetings
o Ability to effectively build relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
o Excellent communication and influencing skills.
o Practical problem solving and strategic thinking skills.
Desirable Skill and Experience:
o Deep working knowledge and understanding of business process and technologies to be able to effectively present and demonstrate the technology solution to all levels of the business organizations.
o Experience with DocuCorp/DocuMaker Studio software preferred.
o Preferred exposure to development practices in large, complex Web environments.
o Experience with retail environment online customer access ideal.
