EMC Corp. January 5 2006, announced that it had acquired the intellectual property for grid software developed by Acxiom Corp. for $30 million, and will work with the company to offer grid-based hosted services. Acxiom is a $1.2 billion company based in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Acxiom Corporation is seeking individuals who have a desire to be on the very leading edge in Grid Software development. These are new positions to expand and develop already available software technology and to work with some of the top developers in grid software technology.

Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer - wanted (GRID INFRUSTRUCTURE) #5474

Responsibilities:
? Develop and execute thorough test plans in a timely and efficient manner for all areas of the product
? Write easy-to-understand test case steps and expected result descriptions
? Develop and implement quality assurance standards, processes, and controls
? May assist in developing quality assurance policies and procedures
? Trouble-shoot problems identified, and communicate results through the issue tracking system
? Ability to perform tests against client-server and Web applications, both front-end UI as well as back-end Databases and Application Servers under multiple operating systems (Unix / Linux and/or Windows based)
? Implement performance test using a unit-testing framework
? Review and Analyze Functional Specifications and/or related documentation for the software product
? Work closely with developers to discuss features and test strategies (as well as defects, resolutions, and project plans / activities
? Evaluate production capabilities and recommend improvements
? Communicate with customers and translate requirements into specifications, bugs, and software solutions
? Critically think about how end-users will interact with the software being tested and turn those thoughts into finding bugs, listing action items, and opening avenues of discussion
? Continually research new and emerging technologies and incorporate that new knowledge into your ongoing QA process

Qualifications:
? BS/BA in computer science or computer engineering required
? Must have 5+ years previous QA experience
? Knowledge of software QA processes and methodologies
? Knowledge of QA Tools and Applications e.g. Mercury, WinTest, Quicktest, LoadRunner etc.
? Possesses general understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design
? Understands web-based and client/server architectures
? Genuine enjoyment of software QA work
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Strong problem solving skills
? Desire to be part of a highly productive, fast-paced team
? Organized and detail-oriented personality
? Understanding and Comfort in working in a Linux environment
