Sr SIP/Audio Conferencing Engineer (Network Engineer I)

The Sr. SIP/Audio Conference Engineer will provide pivotal support in the Development, Design, Implementation, and day to day support of a world class cutting edge of techonology Global SIP Audio Conferencing network/platform used by JPMorganChase globally.

 

Description:

Frequently anticipates problems and analyzes ways to mitigate the risk related to Audio Conferencing Software and Hardware for Demostic and International platforms.  Articulates the business value and impact of advanced technical and non-technical information with ease and knows when to seek senior management assistance.  Provides effective production support including accurate problem identification, ticket documentation and customer/vendor dialogue. Demonstrates excellent command of business knowledge and has the ability to solicit input from internal and external sources. Documents small-to-medium scale projects and delivers presentations with minimal supervision. 

 

Role specific responsibilities include:

? Monitor current system for:

- Capacity

- Clarity of line

- Latency and Jitter

- Packet loss

- Network disturbances

? Provide requirements and expectations to vendor for conferencing technology needs

? Coordinate moves of multimedia conferencing equipment with vendors
Participate in developing Request for Proposal (RFP) from new multimedia conferencing vendors
Participate in selection of multimedia conferencing vendor(s).

Role:
To provide Tier 3 level support for Operations Team.
Levels of support are defined as:

- Tier 1 support is the help desk

- Tier 2 support is the Operations Team

- Tier 3 support is the Network Engineer
To perform capacity planning.
To participate as an integral member of a project team.

 Responsibilities:

 

General responsibilities include:

? Establish and maintain working relationships with all project team members, vendors, and internal customers

? Demonstrate teamwork and foster cooperation

? Adhere to documented Standards, such as Best Practices, and Security Guidelines as they pertain to the multimedia conferencing solution

? Follow development process to:

- Write requirements

- Analyze needs

- Design the application

- Develop or build the application

- Thoroughly test the application

- Implement the application

- Turn implemented solution over to operations for support
Manage own tasks to completion
Provide capacity planning (routing, ports, trunks, bandwidth) on all assigned projects:

- Acquire information from history, forecast, monitoring the systems

- Derive information from other installations

? Determine, in conjunction with project management and other project team members, the appropriate schedule to perform approved production environment Change Control process

? Complete web-based production environment Change Control Form

? Participate in Peer Review Panel, comprised of engineering and operations team members, to review the: accuracy, potential cross impacts, rainy day scenarios, and recovery plans as specified on the production environment Change Control Form
Escalation point of contact for all questions, issues, and concerns within area of subject matter expertise from the Operations Team
Develop electronic binder, for the purpose of maintaining good technical records, to be turned over to Operations Team within 48 hours of project implementation.  Information may include:



Skills:

Candidate must be able to:
Interface with internal customer to determine business requirements and expectation regarding multimedia conferencing solutions
Clearly communicate with all interested parties
Engage in meaningful conversation to gather clear objectives, requirements, and expectations when meeting with internal customers
Assist with and coordinate installation and upgrades of the multimedia conferencing hardware and software with minimum supervision
Document all customization specific to the installation
Write documents relevant to: requirements, analysis, design, testing, and implementation

? Review current installations and perform a gap analysis based on documented standards for all JP Morgan Chase multimedia conference and adjuncts (scheduling and monitoring servers, network termination devices, multiplexers, external control systems) across the enterprise

? Correct or escalate all reported troubles

? Run reports for capacity monitoring, metrics and planning

? Determine routing patterns

? Recognize opportunities to reuse known successes from previous implementations

? Research new technology in field of expertise and document findings
Perform in-depth troubleshooting tasks during testing of application with minimum supervision
Perform in-depth troubleshooting activities associated with multimedia conferencing post-turnover
Conduct operational turnover at project implementation completion.
Work flexible hours in support of implementation and troubleshooting activities at night and on weekends
