Sr. Software Developer

Your function Messaging Solutions is looking for a strong candidate to design, develop, maintain and support SWIFTNet applications. Support of these applications may require on-call duties.

1. Ensure that the solution developed and delivered to live operation, is in compliance to SWIFT's High Resiliency, Security, and process requirements.
2. Perform design and code reviews and ensures code reusability for software components. Ensure code implementation is optimal and compliant in areas of object-oriented design, testing, and error handling.
3. To assist the manager or team lead and independently analyze input/output requirements, information flow, technical requirements, resources needed, etc.
4. Work with other Software Developers to share best practices.


Your responsibilities will be to

Design, develop, test, install and support programs/systems. Support projects proposals on the basis of cost/benefit justification interfacing with stakeholders across functional and geographical lines.
Analyse detail systems factors: input/output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, alternative approaches, etc.
Provide technical assistance to other SWIFT colleagues and assist in resolving problems reported by less senior team members.
May prepare and complete systems documentation and operating procedures.
May lead design review meetings for small to medium size/complexity/risk projects.
Provide technical guidance to customers and act as mentor to less senior team members. May give presentations to management and customers.
Evaluate and recommend technical feasibility and estimates of the proposed systems solutions.
Perform unit level testing, platform integration testing and participate in service integration testing. Develop test cases, document installation and testing results.
Maintain test status, use change and solution tracking databases according to develop and change management processes and procedures.
Implement test scripts when needed to automate testing and install SWIFT developed as well as a variety of COTS software
Do you have what it takes?
Education
University degree in computer science or related field. Or equivalent work experience. -

Experience
5 to 10 years experience in systems development. - Strong knowledge and experience in developing applications for a mission critical and security sensitive environment is a must.

Professional skills
Sound technical knowledge of Unix (preferably HP UX), Tuxedo, Perl, C, C++, Java and Shell scripts.
Excellent knowledge of ORACLE, SQL, XML
Oracle based application development knowledge is a must.
Professional experience with application servers,Tuxedo, experience with TIBCO a plus.
Excellent problem solving abilities, detail orientation, written communication.
Working knowledge of IP networks and PKI is an advantage.
Must be a team player.
