Sr. Software Engineer, Security

Position Title: Sr Software Eng, Security (Microsoft Technologies)
Location: Northern Virginia

Description:
This is a leadership position within our Software Development team. This individual will contribute to the development of various products related to our Security business area. This individual must possess strong technical skills coupled with the interpersonal and communication skills to both direct small software development teams and manage customer relationships. This person must possess a strong background designing and developing internet security applications or products.

Responsibilities Include:

Develop architectural designs for solutions to business problems

Assist Product Managers and customers in understanding our technology, products, and services

Design and develop internet security, identity management, and PKI solutions in Java, employing standard design patterns and development practices

Mentor development teams on use of design patterns and evangelize software development practices and processes

Lead design reviews and code walkthroughs for small teams

Present architectures and designs to customers and management team


Travel: Minimal

Experienced in designing, developing and architecting systems and software using a Microsoft development environment/.NET framework-webServices, SOAP, UDDI is highly desired

Knowledge and understanding of Public Key Infrastructure, X509 certificates, SSL certificates, and tokens

Knowledge of and experience with IBM Tivoli Access Manager (TAM) and Tivoli Federated Identity Manager (FIM)

Must have lead design, development, and deployment of at least one significant internet security application or product

Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Meta Directory technologies

Knowledge of and experience with service-oriented architectures (SOA)

Experience with Developing software modules using Mircrosoft ADSI and Crypto API

Bachelor's degree preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics

Minimum 5 years work experience with 2 years as software lead/architect and 2 years experience with internet security implementations and applications.

Strong application security experience with PKI infrastructure including asymmetric and symmetric encryption/decryption, security certificates, and SSL

Deep knowledge of and experience with Microsoft techonolgies and development platforms including Visual C++/C# and .NET

Knowledge and demonstrated experience designing multi-tier, highly available, multi-threaded, scalable architectures for large-scale web-based/eCommerces services

Strong OO knowledge and design skills

Knowledge and demonstrated experience designing multi-tier, highly available, multi-threaded, scalable architectures for large-scale web-based/eCommerce services

Knowledge of and experience with Securtiy Assertion Markup Language (SAML)

Demonstrated application of architectures and designs that employ design patterns

Knowledge of hardware architectures for large-scale web/eCommerce infrastructures including clustering, high-availability, fault tolerance, etc.

Highly developed negotiation, facilitation and consensus-building skills.

Highly developed oral and written communication skills.

Strong project planning (including level of effort estimation, planning and prioritization of projects) and project management skills required

Experience in business to business (B2B) environments

Aerospace and Defense environment background

Knowledgeable of formal development and design methodologies such as UML and RUP.

Familiarity with fundamentals of software configuration management, automated build processes, and source code control systems such as PVCS, SourceSafe, etc.
