Sr. Solution Architect, LIMS

This is a FIELD BASED position that can be anywhere in the U.S.



•Oversees the technical and design aspects of all projects to which they are assigned, in conjunction with each project’s project manager.
•Work with the business areas and clients to understand their business needs, analyzing the requirements and processes and making recommendations on the optimal systems implementation of those processes.
•Ability to perform workflow data analysis, generate requirements, data mapping, and participate in system design, development and testing.
•Develop software design specifications based on client requirements and in conformation to standards put forward by the SDG.
•Work with the developers to build and/or enhance applications based on software design specifications.
•Develop test plans.
•Test new system enhancements and integration and/or lead the testing effort.
•Provide system documentation and training materials.
•Review, analyze, and evaluate existing business systems and corresponding user needs. •Write detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify applications.
•Work with end users and clients to evaluate and solve technical problems.
•Provide documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections.
•Critically evaluate custom developed modules for completeness, accuracy, and reliability.



Qualifications:
•Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in Life Sciences, Information Technology or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
•Two years of consultancy experience.
•Requires five years of application specific experience (e.g., LIMS).
•Two years of software development experience.
•Professional Certification a plus (Oracle Certified Developer or DBA; Sun Certified Java Programmer, Developer, or Architect; IEEE Certified Software Development Professional)



 Job Knowledge:
•Application knowledge in the tools utilized in Applied Biosystems Informatics products. For example:, i.e. LSL, SQL*LIMS, and GeneMapper.
•In-depth understanding of customer business, goals, objectives, strategies, and needs.
