Sr. Subject Matter Expert - EDI & XML

General Summary: Work in a business process team as a subject matter expert (SME), and as a consultant at a Super User Level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Provide the technical expertise to expedite new systems solutions. Focus on end to end system processes and on cross-functional impact. Strong technical knowledge to propose and defend technical solutions. Document process design based on a standard process harmonization methodology. Participate and ensure Alignment Process with Canada to ensure consistent use of system across locations. Identify, explain systemic process changes and develop new processes based on business rule policies, legal/regulatory requirements, business improvement opportunities. Translate definition of business requirements into systemic changes. Work with team members (Super Users, Consultants, Developers) to validate system requirements and system design. Review change-request process driven by the Super User Support consultant developers understanding systemic impact of desired Business Requirements. Consults with developers during the system construction phase and roll-out to ensure desired results are achieved and to maintain current knowledge of system capabilities to assess future cross departmental impacts. Execute integration testing and systemic regression testing to maintain integrity of end to end-processes. Support North America to understand new system-changes. Focus on cross-functional communication. Validate end user training materials to ensure standardization of system use. Participate in user training to better understand the business processes as it relates to the system changes. Input into planning. Mentor junior team members. Reviews and critiques the deliverables of junior team members. 


Requirements:

4+ years IT systems projects and/or support experience with knowledge of SAP (ERP) modules. Prefer technical background derived from either education or hands on experience as a developer or DBA to ensure detailed understanding of database fundamentals. Ability to understand appropriate business requirements and incorporate them into proposed solutions. Excellent troubleshooting, analysis, communication and documentation skills. Works effectively across functional and technical teams to ensure communication and coordination of the solution and its delivery. Ability to work as a member of a virtual team and travel when required.
