Sr. System Administrator

RESPONSIBILITES:

Following standard procedures provide operational support for electronic payment services company?s data center in a 7x24x365 data center environment.
Install, configure, and support UNIX (Solaris, AIX, and Linux) and Windows/NT based hardware, operating systems and third party applications (middleware).
Test, document, and install new servers and upgrade and patch existing servers. Resolve application and system configuration issues.


 


 Secondary job responsibilities: 

Understand application structure and design in how they interact across platforms and use this knowledge effectively to resolve issues quickly.
Provide assistance in analyzing problem trends to suggest both long-term and short-term fixes. Work with application and customer support teams to provide root cause analysis and recommendations to quickly resolve issues.
Work closely with customer support team to communicate the root cause of the outage, duration and recommendations or steps to resolve issues. 


 


REQUIREMENTS: 

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
Five years of systems administration or 5 years of experience in a related field such as Systems Engineering.
A significant portion of this experience should be in a large production (200+ UNIX servers), data-center environment.

Experience must include: 1) Solaris; 2) VERITAS; 3) AIX; and 4) HACMP is desired but not required.
