Sr. System Administrator w/ Active Secret Clearance

  Preferred Systems Solutions, Inc. is currently in search of a dynamic Sr. System Administrator to join our team in Washington, DC.  The position supports one of our largest government customers and an ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE (or T/S) is REQUIRED. 

 

Major duties will include, but not be limited to: Monitoring and evaluating network usage and performance; performing start-up and shutdown; maintaining availability of network to users in keeping with the availability times prescribed in functional requirements and/or a delivery order; performing preventive maintenance, back-ups and archiving functions; diagnosing and correcting hardware and software problems; configuring hardware and software; establishing and maintaining user accounts; providing technical support of hardware, software, cabling and peripherals; developing and/or maintaining documentation that contains standard operating procedures, including operation and maintenance procedures; maintaining trouble report logs; producing statistical reports that contain performance and usage data; maintaining an inventory of all network hardware and software and logical and physical design and providing configuration management; and security management. Web management related duties will include: establishing tools, processes and procedures that facilitate internal and external web publishing as well as the update of web pages, databases and other web published information; providing web access and utilization analysis; generating periodic reports to support and summarize web usage and identifying new/enhanced system requirements based upon documented utilization combined with predicted increases in utilization; providing user support for published web resources and allocating web resources based upon user requirements and availability of resources. 

 

Candidate selected will be providing Systems Administration, Information Assurance support, Network Engineering and Citrix Engineering and Implementation Support. Three (3) years specialized experience as a system administrator for one or more systems that supported multiple users. This experience must include troubleshooting and resolving technical problems (both hardware and software), performing software upgrades and performance monitoring and tuning. This experience must included work with technologies/products such as Windows 2000/2003/XP, Microsoft Exchange, IIS, Solaris, Citrix, Cisco, or UNIX.
