Sr. Systems Administrator

Using industry best practices, this individual will provide 24/7 support and quality assurance of RNK Telecom's data servers, networks and systems.  Reporting to the Director of IP Operations, responsibilities will also include reporting and documenting performance and utilization, as well as making recommendations to maintain reliable operations while meeting growth demands.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:24/7 support of servers in data center and back office environmentsMaintain enterprise security model and industry best practicesPerform network and systems security auditsReport on system performance and utilization, design upgrades, and scale systems to meet growth demandsCreate and maintain accurate documentation of system hardware and software configuration for all systemsCreate and maintain accurate documentation of all processes and procedures necessary for reliable data center operationsEnsure timely and complete backups

 

Qualifications:5+ years of solid systems administration proficiency with Solaris, FreeBSD, Linux, and/or other Unix2+ years administering production environments hosted in a data centerExtensive knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPN, WAN/LAN and physical layer devices such as Switches, Routers, FirewallsProficiency in configuration and maintenance of commercial and open source software such as Apache, BIND, OpenLDAP, Asterisk PBX, etcA drive to proactively build and maintain rock solid enterprise systemsKnowledge of Active Directory, Exchange 2003, and other Microsoft server technologies a plusHigh school diploma required, college degree preferred
