Sr. Systems Test Engineer Contract in Colorado Springs

We are working with a customer in Colorado Springs to help them identify a Senior Systems Test Engineer for a contract opportunity.

The Systems Engineer will focus on defining customer needs and required functionality early in the development cycle, decomposing and allocating requirements and performing test planning while considering the complete project.

Involving an interdisciplinary approach and means to enable the realization of successful systems, systems engineering considers both the business and the technical needs of all customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the user needs.

Test Engineer - Test Engineering focuses on performing test planning early in the development cycle, taking into account configuration item/component qualification culminating in System Integration. In addition to having a desire and ability to think in a systems perspective, this position requires a person with a qualification test background, system integration background, and system test background, bringing systems expertise to the Integration and Test team. The person in this position will primarily support the IMPCS project, performing the following tasks:

Support of the definition and configuration control of the IMPCS Test Lab
Definition of qualification and verification events for the IMPCS components
Requirements allocation and decomposition of User Requirements into System and Configuration Item
Requirement Specifications in the MIL-STD 490 model
Generation of Internal and External Interface Requirements
Qualification Test Conduct, Problem Troubleshooting, and Discrepancy Resolution
System Test Conduct, Problem Troubleshooting, and Discrepancy Resolution

This engineer will be required to generate the following documentation:
System Requirement Specifications (A Spec)
Configuration Item Specifications (B Spec)
Qualification and System Test Plans
Qualification and System Test Procedures
Interface Control Documentation

This engineer will function as an IMPCS System Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) team member.

Should have knowledge of Systems Engineering and Test Engineering processes. Able to travel up to one week per month. Ability to work in an IPT environment.

Experience Requirements:
B.S. in an Engineering/Scientific discipline, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree. 10+ years relevant work experience required.

System Test Experience required. SATCOM Experience desired. Commercial and/or Government system certification experience a plus.

Special Requirements:
Value Based Six Sigma certification a plus. Applicant must be able to secure and maintain a United States Department of Defense security clearance at the Secret Level.
