Sr. Team Lead / Java / Growing Firm / Global Leader in Technology

We are looking for an energetic team player to join our group as a Lead Software Developer. As the Lead Software Developer you will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle to ensure the delivery of quality product releases. You will be instrumental in the design and development of applications using cutting edge open source products and development tools on a variety of operating systems.  As well as provide technical direction to a team of Software Developers and report to the Senior Director of Research and Development.

Experience and Skills needed for success:

? 15+ years of software design and development experience required

? 3-5 years experience with Java required

? J2EE (Swing, AWT, JDBC, Java Web Start,  Java base libraries and virtual machines)

? Apache and Apache Tomcat

? Jetty and JBoss

? LifeRay, Hibernate and HSQLDB

? Eclipse

? Ant and OpenSTA

? Experience with complex application architectures required

? Bachelor?s degree in related area required

? Database programming skills desired, including Oracle, SQL, DB2, TeraData

? Experience with various operating systems and hardware platforms desired (Linux and/or Windows)

? Experience with shell script programming desired

? Excellent communication skills required

? Retail experience a plus

 

Responsibilities:

? Design and develop highly complex programs, modules, routines, scripts and data objects from a detailed design where efficiency, performance and reliability affect our customers? mission critical applications

? Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other team members

? Work with product managers and other subject matter experts to develop functional specifications for new software development

? Create and adhere to software development project plans

? Comply with Datavantage software development standards, policies and procedures

? Provide regular project status reports

? Develop application documentation plus test, implement and maintain technical upgrades.

? Manage testing environments and support QA teams as needed

? Regularly interface with other Datavantage software development teams to coordinate product releases and promote code sharing.

? Provide technical support to product sales and implementation teams
