This position serves as Director of Design & Delivery Division with responsibility for administering management of desktop technical services that are provided by the Design Section, Delivery Section, Messaging Services Section and Administrative Applications Section. This position coordinates with the directors of other Infrastructure Services organizations such as the Client Service Center, Field Services, Data Center Services, Telecommunications and Network Management, along with Client Service Directors and Information Officers, to ensure that development, implementation, and maintenance of applications within the network environment in support of the state agencies and departments. The duties include setting of priorities in alignment with the IT strategic plan, and ensuring that quality information technology services are provided to the Executive Branch of the State of Michigan to meet their business needs.  This position will ensure that critical processes and structures are effectively operational and deployed throughout the enterprise ensuring quality, standardization, integration, and successful implementation. This position will keep the Office Automation Services Director apprised of any issues or concerns regarding desktop technical services and acts on the Director?s behalf when directed.

 

Desired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  Extensive knowledge of the principles of administrative management including planning, staffing and training.  Extensive knowledge of the methods of program development and evaluation.  Considerable knowledge of information technology concepts.  Public relations skills.  Ability to manage a large and complex organization.  Ability to communicate effectively, especially relating to technical matters.
